Intro

  • Follow this step-by-step guide if your Smartwares View Camera (or Doorbell) often loses connection with WiFi.

Step 1

  • Please make sure your Smartwares View Camera isn't too far away from your router. Also, take care not set it right next to your router as that would be too close by.

Step 2

  • If there are many different WiFi networks in or around your house, please try changing your WiFi channel.
  • You can do this by logging in to your router, go to the WiFi settings of your 2.4GHz network and select a different channel from the drop down menu.
  • If unsure on how to do this, please consult your router's manual or ask your ISP for help.

Step 3

  • Please make sure your Smartwares View Camera isn't surrounded by large metal objects, as these could seriously hamper its WiFi connectivity.
  • Also, make sure not to place your Smartares View device right next to a microwave oven, since these often work at 2.4GHz as well.

Step 5

  • If, despite all this, you are still losing connection, try to connect your Smartwares View Camera to a different WiFi network. Perhaps that of a neighbor's, friend's or family member's.
  • If the issue disappears completely, it may be that (a setting of) your network is causing issues with the camera.
