The maintenance and care of a smoke detector is very important.

This increases safety and contributes to a trouble-free operation.

The exact inspection and cleaning intervals can be found in the operating instructions enclosed with the smoke alarm detector. If these are no longer available, you can view or download them on our service homepage using the article number.

To carry out the cleaning, use a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth without cleaning agent. To do this, remove the smoke detector from the mounting plate/ceiling bracket.

Hold the smoke detector so that you can see the rating label.

You will now see a slit running all the way round, which you can cover with the suction pipe/crevice nozzle of the vacuum cleaner.

Please note that no foreign objects may be brought into the smoke detector.

The holes on the front of most smoke detectors are the exit openings of the alarm sound, these should not be vacuumed, as this can cause damage to the smoke detector.

Since there are different construction methods and designs of smoke detectors, the following pictures are examples of the places where suction should be applied:

Check the smoke detector for correct function after each cleaning. Follow the instructions in the operating manual.
