For recording, a Micro SD card must always be inserted in the camera. We always recommend formatting the card for use with the camera. Please check the below information:

1. If your Micro SD card is not recognised

Refer to the table below to check which Micro SD card is compatible with which model.

If the HomeWizard camera app does not recognise the Micro SD card then please follow the below steps:

  • Check if the Micro SD card is correctly connected to the camera.
  • Remove the Micro SD card from the camera and replace it. It may take a few seconds for the camera to recognise the Micro SD card. As soon as the camera recognises the card, the camera will make a clicking or audio sound.
  • If you do not hear a confirmation, it is possible that the camera has to be restarted to recognise the Micro SD card. (Rebooting the camera can take up to 2 minutes.)
  • If you have checked whether your SD card falls within the compatibility requirements and if it is not yet recognised, go to 3. Format micro SD card.

2. If your camera does not take video or shows no screenshot in timeline.

  • Check if the camera is correctly set for recording:

    1. Open the 'HomeWizard Cameras' -app
    2. Go to 'Options' of the camera in the list view.
    3. Then press 'Recordings'
      • Then click on  'Recording settings'
      • You have the options;
        • Manual: The camera does not start recording automatically. You can record manually from the Full screen view.
        • Always record: The camera always records. When the SD card is full, the oldest recordings are automatically deleted.
        • Only on detection: The camera only records on detection. The minimum length of a detection recording is 30 seconds. The recording is automatically extended if detection takes place.
          • Here you can choose when you want to record. If you have chosen 'Only with detection', it is possible to set detection as desired.

  • Check if the Micro SD card is not full.

    1. Open the 'HomeWizard Cameras' -app
    2. Go to 'Options' of the camera in the list view.
    3. Then press 'Recordings'
      • Then click on  'Recording settings'
      • At the bottom of the screen you can find how much free space is still available on your Micro SD card. With normal behavior there should be at least 3% free space on the Micro SD card and the camera automatically removes the oldest recordings if the Micro SD becomes too full.
  • If you see abnormal results, we recommend that you delete a number of recordings until there is enough available or format the SD card. Follow the steps in point 3. Format micro SD card to read how to format the SD card.

3. Format micro SD card

Formatting is a way to configure the memory card so that the device (camera) recognises the storage.

PAY ATTENTION

All data on the Micro SD card (camera recordings) will be deleted after formatting.
