Some recommended places:
  • Under or next to the washing machine.
  • In a solar water heater, under the connection to the pipes.
  • In basements or crawl holes at risk of flooding

Testing the leakage detector

The water detector alarm is triggered when two of the three pins on the bottom make contact with water or another fluid.  To reproduce this you can use two wet fingers on 2 of the 3 contacts.

It is recommended to check visually every week to see if the LED flashes to indicate it is functioning correctly (every 30 seconds or so)
